There is no specific required text for this course, however, course reading materials must be researched and included as part of the process.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Independent research or readings in areas not fully covered by core or elective courses.

INSTRUCTOR NOTES:
The independent research course requires a minimum of 45 hours of research, development, and learning activities per credit hour. For 3 credit hours plan on approximately 135 hours. In this course the student proposes learning topics, learning objectives, and the process for accomplishing what they proposed. The independent learning objectives the student proposes should include topics directly related to Visual Technologies topics. The learning objectives should also expand on the opportunities currently offered in VT courses. What this means is if the learning objectives are taught in a VT course, then the student should take the course and not do it independent study. It also means that the student can use this course to pursue topics in greater depth than what is covered in VT course offerings.

Grades will be issued on a percentage of total points possible as follows:
94-100% = A
90-93% = A-
87-89% = B+
84-86% = B
80-83% = B-
77-79% = C+
74-76% = C
70-73% = C-
67-69% = D+
64-66% = D
60-63% = D-
Below 59% = F
